Initial Evaluation with Doctor Fairweather
The initial evaluation is typically 40 to 50 minutes in length, depending upon the complexity of your case. Dr. Fairweather uses this time to gather detailed information about your history of symptoms, behavior patterns and relationship styles to carefully formulate a Psychiatric diagnosis. Once you have been educated about your diagnosis and treatment options, medications are prescribed when appropriate. Referrals for counseling and/or medical follow up are made when necessary.
Follow up visits with Doctor Fairweather
Follow up visits, typically 15 minutes in length, are for close monitoring of your response to medical treatment. These visits allow for prompt, appropriate adjustments to your treatment regimen as necessary to maximize your wellness. For those patients in need of psychotherapy, referrals to skilled counselors and psychotherapists will be made.
Payment is due at the time of service. Dr. Fairweather does not accept insurance as a form of payment, but provides an insurance-ready form at each visit that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement (for more information see the Frequently Asked Questions section). Accepted methods of payment include credit/debit cards (including FSA, HSA, Master Card, Visa, Discover and American Express) and cash.
For those without health insurance, Doctor Fairweather is often able to provide sample medications and/or assist patients in enrolling in Patient Assistance Programs which provide discounted or medications free of charge from the manufacturer for those who qualify.
